How to Use This Program

Three simple steps…
  1. Learn the Techniques
  2. Practice the routine in a form/kata. You should be able to perform this kata in “Street” speed.
  3. Insert your attackers Start slow. First three techniques, second three then final four. As you progress and they become more sophisticated add more techniques per. Ex. 4, 4, 5.

TIPS:
  • Be explosive, not fast. Accentuate power strikes.
  • Breathe. “EIA’s” help you breathe, let it out.
  • Be Dynamic with your facial expressions and your voice. Look and sound like it’s real. Ready to “Seek and Destroy”
  • You can make more contact to the body.
  • Watch your control, you don’t want to hurt your attackers.
Take care of your Attackers, they are your TEAM. “The main ingredient to stardom is the rest of the team.” Without your attackers, there is no MASS Attack.

The Attackers
Three simple steps...
  1. Know your technique. Knowing the techniques will create realistic reactions.
  2. Know your order. Know your order is crucial for timing between techniques. Keep the “dead time” down.
  3. Know your position. Knowing your position in advance you can map out how you will get there without disrupting the flow of the routine.
  4. Bonus: Know all attackers duties. Communication among the team will keep everyone sharp. Sometimes you must remind your fellow attackers what’s next or where they need to be.
Always wear groin protectors. Mouthpieces are optional.
Use padded clubs and rubber round-tip knives.
If you are doing flips, long falls or takedowns - hip pads, back pads, joint pads are optional too.

Reaction Tips:
  • Know the direction, the angle and the amount of force.
  • Direction - where’s it coming from. Right, left, up, down.
  • Angle - although a strike may come from the left side, it may be striking diagonally across the face.
  • Amount of Force - An eye rake and a roundhouse kick will generate a different amount of power, thus having a different type of reaction.
  • Bonus: Make NOISE. When attacking, yell. When hit “Eia” louder. Accentuate harder strikes. Be a dynamic attacker.
